This article is from 1998 but is quite interesting, I suggest you give it a read if you've been unemployed for some time and are starting to feel down, it's important to get back into the workforce, especially considering the 15 odd thousand dollars a newstart customer will receive annually, for people breifly between jobs it's usually sufficient, but for those with obstacles holding them back / negating their ability to get work it creates a downward spiral or "Catch 22" that can be extremely difficult to get out of.
